Diese sehr beeindruckende Figur ist dem Film Braveheart mit Mel Gibson nachempfunden. Der sehr gut gelungene Kopf zeigt Wallace (Gibson) in einer der bekanntesten Szene des Film: dem Angriff der Schotten auf die Briten in der Schlacht von Stirling Bridge. Der Kopf ist zwei mal dabei: mit Kriegsbemalung und ohne.
Der echte Sir William Wallace von Elderslie (* um 1270 in Elderslie bei Paisley in Schottland; † 23. August 1305 in London), war ein schottischer Freiheitskämpfer. Das Leben William Wallace war Vorlage für den US-amerikanischen Spielfilm Braveheart von 1995 mit Mel Gibson in der Titelrolle.
